Telecom operators welcomed the presence of BlackBerry Messenger on Android and iOS smartphone platforms because more and more are expected to capture customer data.

Related to the opening of the instant messaging platform, BlackBerry distributors are not willing to comment on it.

"It's global BlackBerry policy, we have no right to comment on it," said Director of Marketing Communication Erajaya Djatmiko Ward.
